West Village Townhouse
USA
New York, NY
5,000SF (464m2)
In the same family for decades, this 1866 townhouse retained much of its original gilded detail. N&R carefully restored this classic interior on the parlor floor while inserting distinctly modern updates upstairs. The third floor was configured into a front study of modern wood paneling that leads to a rear master bedroom through concealed sliding wood doors. The kitchen on the ground floor was modernized, yet maintains a historic vocabulary in the details, with new French doors and windows opening it up to the rear garden yard.
