This month we had the kick-off to MNA20 - our 20th anniversary yearlong celebration. MNA returned to that most wonderful of urban resorts - Tommy Bahama Manhattan Island … a first in a kind of “heritage tour” of MNA designed spaces. For those new to MNA and the project, Michael gave an overview of the design story, ably assisted by Kevin. Tommy Bahama has a particularly strong brand identity with the back story of Tommy himself, the itinerant traveler who circles the globe in search of tropical climes, adventure… and the perfect rum. The design of the store and the restaurant/bar extends the brand experience throughout. It really did feel like we took a little tropical vacation, especially after we landed at the Marlin Bar to lift a glass of jalapeno margarita, make sentimental toasts and trade stories of MNA.
