We threw ourselves a big “do”, because we are 20 years old and we deserve it! We had great food, plenty of drink, toasts, laughter and much gratitude. We invited our families, friends and colleagues.

We invited our families. People remember my son and daughter coming by the office on East 88th Street to color and do homework when they were very wee, waiting for me to be done with work. Some families we have seen begin and grow in this 20 years. There have been at least 6 babies born in the 20 years and there is another on the way. We have seen weddings: 5 that I can think of off the bat. And we have seen have seen passings … one that shook us to the core.

We invited our friends. There are many. Many are those who we met along the way. Some started as clients or colleagues, but over 20 years have become friends.

We invited our colleagues: professionals with whom we have worked for many years, or maybe just recently. These are people with whom we have created good work and learned so much along the way.

But most of all, we celebrated our people. Talented, funny and caring people who love design and love to make things. We celebrated our success…but most of all, our very good fortune.
