Aquatalia’s First Store

MNA’s design for Aquatalia’s first brand concept and flagship store highlight materiality, texture and light implemented with an artisanal sensibility.

The very first store for Aquatalia opened to coincide with New York Fashion Week. Located on New York’s famed Madison Avenue, MNA created a language with faceted walls to direct the space, angling in and then stepping down to respond to a site that was deep and narrow, leading to a “skylit” room at the back. Establishing a language for the brand to build a larger footprint and expand worldwide, elemental luxury is expressed though modern detailing of classic finishes.

With the store participating in the 30th Annual Miracle on Madison Avenue (no. 62 on the map to the right), Edmundo Castillo, Aquatalia’s Creative Director, also talked to both Coveteur and Footwear News to discuss the brand and its plans for the forthcoming years ahead.
